| Following this highly
successful expedition Adele had a serious accident in the Alps
and her road to recovery saw her leaving the classroom to follow
her passion for the mountains. The following summers were spent
in Bolivia new routing with a group of friends and spending
as much time as possible in the mountains.
In 2001 she decided to start a freelancing career and soon
became part of Jagged Globe as an expedition leader and instructor
which enabled her to climb in all the seven continents.
Between 2007 and the present day Adele has concentrated her
efforts to the 8000m peaks. She has stood on the top of Cho-Oyu,
one of the summits of Manaslu and the top of the world (Everest)
twice .. (the first British woman to do so!) - as well as reaching
camp II on Shishapangma and Gasherbrum II.
In between these trips she has worked the Scottish Winters
and enjoyed some personal trips to Yosemite, Norway and in January
2010 returned from a journey to the top of Neilion (Mt Kenya).
Adele is a passionate instructor who is able to facilitate
peoples mountaineering and climbing aspirations with the launch
of Adele Pennington Mountaineering.
