Classic Ross-shire ScramblesLast night Adele gave a talk at Fettes College in Edinburgh and then took the opportunity to drive North of Ullapool to Polbain to meet Diana and Rosemary for scrambling antics. Scrambling on Stac PollaidhThe weather held to allow fasntastic views over the Minch and the surrounding hills. There is something very majestic about the North West of Scotland and the intrepid trio reminised of their trip to Nepal two years ago. Next year Diana hopes to celebrate her 70th Birthday on another 6000m peak

Climbing and Photography Today
Hey Nick how about my Photography! Nick at the top of Capricorn
Laving early was the key to success today, the winds were lower and with the tide fully out Adele and Nick abseiled down into Square Bay to climb Rosary. Making this into a multi pitch route saved Nick from a wash in salty water. After Rosary they managed to take in Capricorn on Initiation slabs before the tide was back in. A trip down to Port-y Ffynnon in the afternoon was not so successful as the rain as forecasted came in and climbing was abandoned. Tommorow's forecast does not look too promising but another early start may allow Adele and Nick to sneak in one more route.

Wind and WavesWild and Windy Pembroke
Initiation Slabs at Low tide! Today we tried to outwit the forecast by firstly going to a venue which we thought would be sheltered from the WSW 36kph winds unfortunately we were proved wrong but Nick took some excellent shots of moody wild Pembroke
Looking back toward St David's Head
Thinking we may be able to find another sheltered location we changed venue but unfortunately even at low tide the waves crashed well above the belay stances and at times the spray caught us as we wandered along the coastal paths scouting out routes and venues for future climbing. After spending most of the day carrying heavy rucksacks around we returned home to watch the Self Rescue DVD in hope we will get some more climbing in tommorow. Fantastic pictures thank you Nick

SPA to Pembroke Sea CliffsIt was a windy day at St David's this morning but it was dry! Aftrer a damp midgey day at Birchen's crag in the Peak yesterday whilst the SPA assessment team fought their nerves and the little beasts it was a great relief. The swell made for an exciting time and despite the usual stance at Porth Clais being only attainable to those with wings or flippers we were . not deterred and a top rope was set up on Porth Clais crack and Harbour crack. Top roping at Porth Clais As the tide turned and the swell died an ascent of the classic Red Wall made the day. Tommorow the forecast looks good for another day of wet feet and crashing waves.

Andrew and Becky take the LeadIt was not a blue sky day in Wales on Monday but this did not deter Andrew and Becky perfecting their lead climbing. The Moelwyns was the chosen venue. After a brisk walk in Becky was soon starting off on Chic, with Adele installed on the first belay. With tips and some advice we soon completed the four pitches and were off on another route called Slick Becky on the Lead Whilst climbing slick we admired the two gentleman on Slack who proudly announced they were 150 years between them. Fantastic! Two Youths total age 150 on SlackWith some time left but grey skies looming Andy attacked the first
pitch of Kirkus direct with the confidence it needs. Unfortunately the
rain came and after Adele and Becky had reached the first stance it was
time to call an end to the day and abseil off.Tueday aso dawned
wet but Tremadog saved the day. Despite Adele skidding around on
Christmas Curry in the morning Andy got in his lead, hugged the tree and
made a fine ascent of Boo Boo in the afternoon.
On Wednesday Adele spent the day at PHD software designs looking at the development of a new light weight down suit which she will be testing on Kyajo Ri this Autumn. Today she is off to the Jagged Globe office . If you would like to speak to Adele concerning any Jagged Globe trip or Lhotse or Aconcagua then please give her a ring on 0845 345 8848
