Wind and Waves
Wild and Windy Pembroke
Initiation Slabs at Low tide!
Today we tried to outwit the forecast by firstly going to a venue which we thought would be sheltered from the WSW 36kph winds unfortunately we were proved wrong but Nick took some excellent shots of moody wild Pembroke
Looking back toward St David's HeadThinking we may be able to find another sheltered location we changed venue but unfortunately even at low tide the waves crashed well above the belay stances and at times the spray caught us as we wandered along the coastal paths scouting out routes and venues for future climbing. After spending most of the day carrying heavy rucksacks around we returned home to watch the Self Rescue DVD in hope we will get some more climbing in tommorow. Fantastic pictures thank you Nick

We are going climbing!
At 8.00am this morning William (age 4) decided he wantred to go climbing and danced around his house in his new rock boots and helmet. Dad gave God Mum and Uncle Paul a ring and everything was arranged to meet at Burbage North To start the day William warmed up with some weasling, one of God Mum's favourite sports.
It was then time to get those new boots on and gear up.
Look at my yellow shoes!
Padding up the Slab William was chuffed to meet his mate at the top.
Wanting to help William uncoiled the rope and was soon setting off on his first climb of the day.
......and even happier to lower back down..
Not content with the easy slabs William wanted to push his grade...
and to really show how good he was and that he loved climbing just like us all.....
Dad are you proud of me?Superb few hours of fun for Dad, William, Adele and Paul.Adele is now off to the Alps for a week to have some Alpine activity with a group of friends.
