Green, Nausea and Red 25th Feb

Following a day out on Bidean Janet and Adele got the ropes out and went off to the Ben to Climb Green Gully (IV) unfortunately the SD card was still in the computer so no shots of one of the best routes on the Ben in perfect condition. Following Green it was off to the East Face of Aonoch Mor to climb Nausea (III). A fitting name for the day which is a long story and  can only be told over a Beer.

Views !!!

From Aonach Mor we took a drive over to the Cairngorms to visit some friends and have our final day out. Coire an Sneachda was busy but we still managed to have an excellend day on Red Gully. Janet has now returned to Cambridge whilst Adele is having a couple of days off in the far North West

Picket and Pennington fifth Anniversary of Everest 21st Feb

Its five years ago since Janet and Adele stood on Everest together and every year Janet has her annual Scottish fix. Today was a shake down day and the intrepid duo set off for the lost valley. Not content with taking the normal way they soloed up through some rocky buttresses. As the snow slope got steeper the chattering pair became silent and then there was a whoof of joy as they topped out.

Topping out after the now called P and P variation!

Continuing onto Bidean was superb but unfortunately the cheese sandwiches were not so great. With a very cold wind there was no lingering and they made their way down the ridge to the col.

Brenden and Nick

On their arrival they watched Brenden and Nick descend before following on.

An excellent Scottish Winter Mountaineering day out. Tomorrow the P and P duo hopefully will be heading to the Ben.

Green Gully 20th Feb ( Day Off)

Last year the date was set to go out and play with Mally ( My God son's Father). The date was held and off we went to the Ben. The plan was to look for Indicator Wall but that soon changed as we walked into the white room and we decided to go for Green Gully as we knew we may be able to find it.

Mally having fun

It was just great and both Mally and Adele had a super day out. Back to work tomorrow!

Thanks William for letting me share your Dad

Alison takes the lead on Boomerang 19th Feb

With slightly tired legs after yesterday Adele and Alison plodded up to Stob Coire n Lochan. The skies were blue and there was not a breath of wind. Once in  the Coire Alison had her choice of routes for her first lead.

"I like the look of Boomerang as it takes you to the top of the mountain".... Alison said. Excellent choice Adele thought.

Alison on the lead

Swinging leads we made superb time up the gully to top out right on the summit in perfect sunshine.

Topping out  with yesterdays adventure in full view.

An amazing two days and such a well done to Alison who has excelled herself Scottish Winter Mountaineering.
